On February 2th 2017, Cosmetics Europe hosted a second workshop on the development of a repeated dose toxicity (RDT) ontology.
This workshop with participation from external experts was building on previous activities in the field by ECETOC and CEFIC LRI.
The outcome will published in a peer review journal, working title “A mode of action ontology, as a new organising principle for toxicology”.
In brief: the participants agreed on four main scientific pillars to develop a RDT ontology, the critical modes of action to be covered, that such ontology would support LRSS case studies and, in a more general manner ingredient safety assessments. The outcome of the workshop may also be used as a basis for future research initiatives.
